Spruce Flats Falls in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Back in July, my buddy Jerry Denham and I kicked up to this waterfall. It had been the first time the two of us had really gone out in a while to shoot and it felt great.

In normal Jerry fashion, he quickly ended up in the middle of the river setting up to take shots. But with it being the summer, the water, while still cool, was quite refreshing.

This may be a bit of an oxymoron but the tranquil sound of nature and the roar of the waterfall really seem to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. This area was very cool to shoot, with the main fall in the back, and a few minor falls downstream. There were plenty of unique shots to be taken from here.

This may be one of the falls that ends up on the “Return in Autumn” list.
