Pilings

Yesterday’s post was interesting to me, not only was the shot cool, but the process sharing was unique to me. Typically, I use my Nikon D5000 to take the image and use a combination of Adobe’s Lightroom and Photoshop for the post processing. Once the processing is completed, I will upload the image, using my laptop to at least four different locations:

My blog (http://www.banakasdesigns.com)
Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/banakas.photos)
Google + (https://plus.google.com/u/0/101182332285028616119/photos)
Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/abanakas/)

That’s my normal process! Yesterday, was a little different. As you know I shot the image using my phone. When I got home, I proceeded to use Nic’s Snapseed iPhone app to adjust, add filter, and publish the image. Using my phone, I was able to upload the image to all of the locations above.

Today’s photo:
Nothing special about the process of getting this photo to you to day. I’m relaxed in my arm chair, working on my laptop publishing this image.

This image is of a row of pilings at the Tellico Village Yacht Club.

iPhone – Afternoon Fog

On my way home this afternoon, it was raining and just plain dreary. Along with the rain and the above normal temperatures this time of year, the conditions are right for some afternoon fog. This ridge is covered by the low laying fog and just looked interesting, with the tops of the trees breaking through the layer of fog.

Little Creek

Found this little creek on my way to take a photo of the house on the river (here). You can probably see the house in this shot to the right of center, way back behind all the trees.

Over hang

Sitting at home this evening, catching up on season 13 of The Biggest Looser. Since the beginning of the new year, we have been somewhat busy with life and all that surrounds us. It’s nice to just veg out and watch the ol’ TV.

If your interested in seeing more images of East Tennessee, I recommend visiting a fellow photographer Jerry Denham’s blog at http://denhamphotography.blogspot.com/ or circle him on Google+ (he shoots both landscape and sports).

Tellico Village Yacht Club

While driving around East Tennessee, last week, we came across the Yacht Club that is in an area named “Tellico Village”. It was closed, but we walked around the area and took some shots of the building and also some shots of the lake.

Inside the Tunnel

The nice thing about photography is that there are times that the camera can see things that people can’t. This particular image was taken without any light within the tunnel. Setting the shutter speed to a longer time, allows more light to be captured on the camera’s sensor, than can be seen with the human eye.

Stop SOPA and PIPA

Today, January 18, 2012, a lot of the websites that I frequent are protesting the SOPA and PIPA bills that are in the House and the Senate. These bills, if passed would censor the internet and slow economic growth in the US.

For an explanation of what SOPA and PIPA are, and how these bills can affect you, please read the following article on Gizmodo. http://gizmodo.com/5877000/what-is-sopa

Please let your local Congress person know how you feel about these bills. Click on the following link and you will be able to quickly send an email to your Congress person.

If these bills were to pass, the image for today is a representation of what this site may look like, should someone feel as though I have infringed on their work.
