Visiting Washington DC in the dark is pretty interesting. First everything is lit up very nicely. Second, no one is around.

For two evenings while I was in the DC area, I visited downtown DC around the midnight hour and believe it or not, I actually saw more people on a weeknight walking around than I did on a Saturday night.

With the Mall having all the Museums that close at night, the area around the Capitol was like a ghost town. It was actually pretty freaky feeling. I did have a good time getting out and taking photos overnight, and if you have the opportunity, take time to visit during the evening and see things in a different light.
