This shot was taken using a NIKON D5000 at ISO 200, f/4, for 1/13sec
After taking some time to shoot around Jim Bales Place along the Roaring Fork Motor Trail in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Jerry Denham and I stopped at the next homestead on the trail to shoot the nearby waterfalls. The cabin found in this area belongs to the brother of Jim Bales, Ephraim Bales.
I will be sharing an image of Ephraim Bales Cabin in the very near future, so keep an eye out for it.
Upstream from the road, I found this nice little waterfall with a large collecting pool, before the water headed further downstream.
This image is a composite of two separate HDR images. One image I worked to get the best image I could of the waterfall in the background, and the second image I worked on getting a nice shot of the rocks under the water as the foreground. Using the mask tool in Photoshop, I combined the two images to create the one you see here.
