Falls Branch Falls — Getting to the falls is pretty challenging with all the downed trees around and the “steps” that consist of a little brook that seems to have come out of now where, but makes the trip down (and up) a little tricky if you’re not paying attention. But what’s even more challenging than the hike is trying to get an image of the falls without this one tree that tends to show itself in every photo. All around the river at the bottom of the falls, you will find rhododendron, rocks and fallen trees, but there are two trees that seem to have found their roots right in the middle of this beautiful waterfall.

While it is very slippery and dangerous to climb around the mist and moss covered rocks throughout the river, I was able to capture this image by climbing around the area and found an angle that captured Falls Branch Falls and a smaller waterfall.

This shot was taken using a NIKON D5000 at ISO 100, f/22, for 1/4sec
