Sunrise over Fontana Lake NC — This is a shot that was taken during a trip to Clingman’s Dome in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
On our way to the parking lot of Clingman’s Dome, it was dark and while we could see the stars sparkling in the clear sky, we still were not sure what we would see when we got there. As you can see we ended up with an absolutely clear sky. The sunrise creates beautiful colors as it refracts through the atmosphere.
In the middle of this image is the fog that was created over the lake and the valley below.
This shot was taken using a NIKON D5000 at ISO 200, f/9, for 1/8sec
