Lakeside Tree

Today is the first day of real winter weather in East Tennessee. We’ve experienced three full days of nothing but rain and today is the fourth and final day of just dreary weather all around. While the kids are out of school tomorrow due to the snow that has fallen in and around Knoxville, I’m sad to say that we live so far south, that we didn’t get any snow here. Maybe next time around.

The image here is one that I took the last time I took the kids to Fort Loudoun. During the winter, when the leaves are off the trees, you can really start to see the tree’s character. This particular one just seemed to be waiting around the lake for something to happen. Maybe it’s just tired and relaxing by the calm lake, thinking back to it’s youth. Who knows!

This shot was taken using a NIKON D5000 at ISO 400, f/5, for 1/4000sec
