As with anything you do, you have to learn new styles or techniques as environments change and technology changes. With these changes, new challenges arise. A photographer is always looking for that never been captured shot and it’s a rare occurrence that that happens, especially when this is all still so new.
This is the last week of the year and it’s time to start looking at what’s new for the next year. But before I do, I have to take a few minutes to reflect on 2012 and the progress that I think I’ve made from a photographer’s stand point. Sort of my end-of-the-year performance review, if you will.
Below you will find 12 images that I took this year that I feel are the best of the year for me. You may follow the work that I share here, on Facebook, or on Google+ and may think differently, but these are the images that I feel have helped me to become better. This year new challenges and new adventures helped me to become better. I had several opportunities to shoot fireworks for the first time, and prior to doing it for the first time, I was worried that I would end up wasting 20-30 minutes and come back with fuzzy, blurry photos. They ended up coming out great! A few times this year, I (along with my family) got up way too early and ended up getting some of the best shots that I’ve taken this year.
Enough rambling and on with the show!
