The Hiwassee River flows 147 miles from the mountains in North Carolina to the Tennessee River. This river is a popular destination for whitewater rafter, whitewater canoeing, and kayaking. Depening on the water levels, the rapids range from Class I to Class III.

This particular area of the river was interesting to me, as there was a large flat area within the mountains that contained this farm structure along with some pastures for cows. Most areas of the Hiwassee River that I’ve seen in the past have either been uninhabitable due to the mountains that surround it, or are crowded with people that use cleared out areas as entry / exit spots for rafting trips.
