In photography the times just before and after a sunrise or a sunset is know as the “Golden Hour”. There are some amazing images that can come from Mother Nature during these times, but finding the location and the subject can sometimes be tricky. During these times of the day, I’m usually, sleeping or driving to (or from) town. But sometimes, the moment is right and I’m in the right location.
This shot was taken on the banks of the Tennessee River in East Tennessee. I got to this location at about 6:30 am and waited until the sun started to rise, but even then the fog was so dense I didn’t think I was going to get much of anything, it was just so grey out there, but I stuck with it and finally was able to get the shot you see here. There was some post-processing that was used to help pull out the colors.
