There are about 80 documented trails within the borders of the Smoky Mountain National Park. This photo was taken while on one of the undocumented trails. While traveling along Highway 441, through the park, there are a number of “Quiet Walkway” signs. I pulled off at one, that I had visited before, and walked about half a mile to this stream.
I was surprised at the low level of the stream and the large number of exposed rocks. The last time I visited this spot, the water was much stronger and more violent. This is one of the spots that I will need to revisit in the Spring, during the time where the mountain snows begin their runoff.
