On my way back from taking some photos within the Smoky Mountains, I thought I would try to capture the Gatlinburg Tunnel at night. This image is a composite of three different long exposure images. Although you cannot see the cars, they actually eneded up being the light source for the images, and helped in creating this shot.

While I was standing there, I was thinking how loud it would be if one were dumb enough to walk inside the tunnel. There really is no room for pedestrians and there is a ‘by-pass’ trail from those on foot. But standing there taking these pictures were the sounds of horns blaring as they drive through. From where I was, it was still pretty loud.
