The camera that you have on you. I’m grateful that I had my phone with me today. While driving around the Concord area (just outside of Knoxville and Farragut), I came across this tree. The problem is that I had brought my Nikon, but as I was composing the shot I noticed that I didn’t have any of the on screen cues to indicate that the camera was on. So, I turned it on, and nothing changed. It was then that I realized that I had left my camera battery sitting on my bookshelf at home.

Hello Tree
The difficult thing with composing this image was that there was a really bad glare on my iPhone that prohibited me to really get an idea of what this image was going to look like. I think overall, in a pinch, my phone did a great job.

I plan on going back to this spot soon, this time with my other camera and also at a different time. This shot was taken at one of the worst times during the day. The shadows on from the signs are very sharp, and can make for a rough image. I will get this shot again, during the golden hours and reduce the sharp shadows.

Everyone has been at some stage of illness this week at some point. Me? I’ve had a stomach bug at the beginning of the week and now have a cold at the end of it. So, to help unwind, we headed out for dinner and dessert. My son got his own cup of frozen yogurt for the first time and he loved it.
