Don’t need to travel to excotic locations to find that awesome shot. Using what’s in your own backyard should be enough. It all has to do with your perspective.

Shots in the neighborhood.
No need to pack up all your gear and pack up your car.
Shots in the back yard
Stay close to you house
Get down low
Change your perspective
Practice wildlife shooting
Shoot birds while the are at the feeders, zoom in on squirls jumping from limb to limb
Practice outdoor portraits
Shoot action shots on the trampoline. Shoot around the big tree

This is my daughter Coral. We are lucky enough to have a hay-field right in our own backyard.

I wanted to get out in the sunset with someone and try some portrait shots shooting into the sun. I asked her to come with me so we could take some photos while the sun was setting. I knew she would oblige since that meant getting out of doing the dishes a little while longer.

We ended up getting some pretty good shots this time out. I’m ready to go back out again, after looking at these shots, I’ve got some adjustments I would like to make in posing her and in my positioning.

Overall, I think this shot came out pretty good for a first time. What are your thoughts?
